Treatment Staff
Mingus Center places the highest priority on the recruitment
and retention of the most highly qualified expert staff in
the industry. Extraordinary care is exercised in this effort
resulting in the employment of nearly 80 professionals and
support staff providing the highest quality of care to those
we serve. Below are descriptions of these dedicated professionals'
positions.
Psychiatrists are licensed and authorized by law to
use and prescribe medication and other procedures. The psychiatrists
are responsible to the Medical
Director for providing psychiatric services to Center
clients. They are responsible for evaluating our patients'
psychiatric condition, implementing needed psychiatric and
pharmacologic services, participating in multidisciplinary
treatment planning, providing medical expertise to committees,
and contributing to peer review.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to the Clinical
Director for providing nursing care to assigned clients
using nursing process. Duties include assessments, treatment
planning, and medication administration, monitoring and treating
physical health issues, therapeutic milieu management, providing
or assisting in group therapy and psycho-education.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - responsible to
the Clinical Director
for providing nursing care to assigned clients. Duties include
assisting with assessments, participating in treatment planning,
Medication Administration, monitoring health issues, assisting
with milieu management and assisting in groups or activities
therapies.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Professional
Counselor - responsible to the Clinical
Director. The Social Worker or Professional Counselor
is responsible for the provision of clinically necessary and
appropriate therapeutic treatment services. Psychosocial assessments/clinical
intake, the preparation of a multidisciplinary treatment plan,
clinical record documentation, case management and discharge
planning/aftercare services as necessary for assigned clients.
The Activities Specialist - responsible to the Clinical
Director for planning and monitoring the creative and recreational
activities of clients.
The Behavioral Health Technician - responsible to
the Clinical Director providing direct client care and client
supervision in a therapeutic environment working as a member
of the treatment team. The position assists in groups and
activities therapies.
Mingus Center Support Staff provides Financial Services,
Human Resources, Staff Development, Facilities Management,
Information Technology, Performance Improvement, Food/Dietary,
Janitorial, Education, and Transport Services.
